How does MY process work?
Commissioning a painting can feel like a daunting process for many, especially if you have never purchased a piece of art before… but it’s not! At least not with me. I know the first question for many is pricing, so let’s address the elephant in the room head-on.
I completely understand how awkward it can be to talk about money, even more so when you’re the one asking how much… which is why I fully believe in transparent pricing for my work. I think it takes the awkward edge off of negotiating and makes commissioning pieces more approachable and accessible. Instead of having to reach out to ask what it would cost to commission a piece and potentially feeling like you’re going to insult me by telling me your budget (trust me, you won’t), or that I’m going to judge you if you say no because of the price (which I would literally never do), I’ve created a pricing guide to check out beforehand! Perhaps it’s my own anxiety, but I personally love having a general idea of cost from the start, so why not provide that for you, too!?
Now, back to how my process works:
Check out my pricing guide
Get in touch with me! Email is preferred but I always check my Instagram DMs as well.
We discuss the timeframe, size, vibe, color palette and any sentimental inclusions you are looking for.
If you choose to move forward, I email a super simple contract for the both of us to sign, along with a 50% deposit request invoice. If the piece is being shipped, I include an estimate for the shipping within the invoice.
The creation begins! I give you the choice to see a progress photo, OR you can be totally surprised and wait for the final art!
If you opt for a custom frame, I create and attach it to the piece, along with hardware to make it ready to hang.
If you don’t opt for a custom frame, I still attach hardware to make it ready to hang.
Each piece is photographed for my portfolio/archives, then carefully packaged with protective materials.
If local, I offer free pickup from my studio, or I will deliver the piece for a small fee.
An invoice for the remaining 50% of the commission is sent upon pickup/delivery/shipping.
